The concave foam really does hold my wriggly 18-month-old in place instead of him rolling off mid-change. It's deep enough that I've stopped using a separate table pad entirely.

Wasn't sure a mat alone would be enough on top of the dresser, but the deep profiled foam grips my squirmy nine-month-old surprisingly well. It's tough and wipes clean fast, which matters when things get messy mid-change.

The concave foam shape does keep my wiggly toddler in place better than a flat mat, which is a plus. But the foam is quite firm and there's no added cushioning, so he fusses a bit during quick changes unless I put a towel down.
